Completing Merchant Requests in the Resident Evil 4 Remake is one of the best ways to earn valuable Spinel rewards and upgrade your arsenal. Among the various side quests scattered throughout the game, the Catch Me A Big Fish quest requires players to hunt down a specific creature hidden in the murky waters of the lake. Finding the target can prove challenging if you are unaware of its precise spawning spot.
Starting the Catch Me A Big Fish Quest
To initiate this quest, players must progress to Chapter 4 after acquiring access to the motorboat. Head over to the Lakeside Settlement region on the northwestern edge of the lake and locate the locked door requiring the Insignia Key. Inside the cavern beyond the door, pick up the blue request note attached to the wall to officially begin the challenge.
The request note provides a vague photographic clue depicting a massive fish swimming near a wooden structure. Completing this objective yields four Spinels upon returning to the Merchant.
Exact Lunker Bass Location
The target fish, known as the Lunker Bass, spawns in the open waters near the Boat House on the southern end of the lake. Steer your boat toward the waters directly in front of or just north of the wooden boat house docks. You will notice a unusually large fish with prominent spiky dorsal fins swimming near the surface.
Unlike standard black bass, the Lunker Bass has a much larger physical profile that makes it easy to identify from a distance. Keep your boat at a manageable distance so you do not accidentally run over the target before aiming.
How to Catch and Deliver the Lunker Bass
Once you locate the aquatic target, ready your harpoons while standing on the motorboat. Carefully aim and throw a harpoon directly at the fish to subdue it instantly. Drive the boat over to the floating carcass and press the interact button to add the creature to your inventory.
After securing the item, travel to the nearest Merchant hub situated southwest of the lake. Open the trade menu and sell the fish to automatically fulfill the request criteria. Selling it also grants an additional 5,000 Pesetas alongside your Spinel reward.
Important Gameplay Tips for the Quest
Make sure you have enough space in your inventory before picking up the heavy fish. Avoid consuming the fish as a healing item, as eating it will force you to search for another source or fail the request.
Completing this task early in Chapter 4 helps secure crucial funds for weapon upgrades before heading deeper into the castle territory. Following these steps ensures a quick and hassle-free hunt across the lake.
